Data science package and Health and well-being technologies

The first working life oriented know-how modules are offered in March-August 2016. Data science package and Health and well-being technologies is a product based on the collaboration between Åbo Akademi and University of Turku. Studies of Åbo Akademi are open courses and University of Turku offers some of the lectures as open webinars. When you register as a student you will get all materials, feedback and credits. As open university education the registration is open for employees, entrepreneurs, organizations, students and unemployed. An excellent place to network also!

Why data science?
In the age of data explosion, the face of science used in all fields is being changed dramatically. Nowadays, both scientists and practitioners are dealing with massive amount of unstructured data which contains unprecedented amount of decrypted information which in turn can facilitate the break through data-driven discoveries and predictions. That is why the demand for the “data scientists” with the ability to read through this entangled web of knowledge is on rise. Why health and well-being technologies?
The field of health and well-being technologies is inherently cross-disciplinary. In order to excel in the field, competence in the fields of health, care and technology are expected. As the ongoing health service reform is changing the field of health care globally, aspects such as service provisioning, domain legislation and even ethics are of the essence. Read more
