The eight EU countries that make up the Baltic Sea Region (Sweden, Denmark,<br \/>\nEstonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland) face several common challenges which are reflected in the jointly-agreed Action Plan for the Strategy. It includes a number of policy areas\/horizontal actions to save the sea, connect the region and increase prosperity \u2013<br \/>\neach accompanied by concrete flagships project.<\/p>\n<p>One of the policy areas, PA SAFE, has the overall goal for the Baltic Sea\u201cto become a leading region in maritime safety and security\u201d. PA SAFE is jointly coordinated by the Finnish Transport Safety Agency and the Danish Maritime Authority.<\/p>\n<p>PA SAFE held a flagship seminar &#8220;Results from the Maritime Safety Related Research&#8221; in Vantaa 25 November 2016.
