She has previously worked as a researcher at the Academy of Finland and as a lecturer in history at University of Turku.<\/p>\n<p>Vainio-Korhonen&#8217;s areas of expertise are 18th century and history of cities, and she has published works on goldsmiths, artisans, female entreprenours, female servants, noble women and women&#8217;s history.
