Urban Research Programme

Turku Urban Research Programme

Turku Urban Research Programme seeks to support academic urban research, promote tools for urban governance, and develop knowledge exchange between the universities and the City of Turku. The joint research programme is a pioneering knowledge-brokering model internationally.

The City of Turku’s interest in developing research co-operation is to support knowledge-base of decision making, while the universities aim to strengthen multi-disciplinal urban research as well as regional engagement.

Research topics range from economic development to social policy, and from sustainability to good governance.

The Turku Urban Research Programme is managed by research director Sampo Ruoppila (University of Turku)
