It has a network comprised of more than 1400 companies and units of the ICT field which will be used as dissemination and data collection channel. It works with regional development and aims at enhancing preconditions for a diverse business environment. It gets rigorous information about the possibilities to develop logistics and ICT competence in the semi-rural region and serves as dissemination and data collection channel to the local businesses. Logistics-related spatial planning is one of its current key priorities.<\/p>\n Contact person: Pertti Pulli <\/a>Pilot Turku Ltd<\/b> is a development company owned by the City of Turku. It focuses on promoting the international logistics operations in the Turku Region. The purpose of the organisation is to provide the customers with a single service channel for contacting all decision-makers and actors, thus lowering the thresholds of language, culture and bureaucracy. Pilot Turku provides its logistics competence and contacts to the project. It also serves as a dissemination channel and data collection channel to the local businesses. They have previously participated in Interreg projects NeLoC and InLoC.<\/p>\n Contact person: Tuomas Mikkola <\/a>Regional Council of Southwest Finland<\/b> is a joint municipal authority which functions in accordance with the principles of municipal self-government, operating as the authority on regional development as well as the region\u2019s planning and lobbying organisation. In LogOn Baltic especially Regional Council\u2019s knowledge on the regional spatial planning will be an essential part. The Council also is a direct connection to other local authorities and policy makers. At the moment they are hosting the South Finland Coastal Zone Interreg IIIA Programme.<\/p>\n Contact person: Eero L\u00f6yt\u00f6nen <\/a>TEDIM<\/b> is a joint organ of the Ministries of Transport around the Baltic Sea. It is a development forum for (i) logistics co-operation between the EU and Russia, as well as between the EU Member States, (ii) dissemination of best practices in transport and logistics and (iii) use of telematics in transport and logistics. A hallmark of TEDIM projects is a unique co-operation between private and public sector. TEDIM joins as an advisory partner with the main task to reach out to all Ministries of Transport in the BSR with LogOn Baltic results.<\/p>\n Contact person: Tuija Maanoja <\/a>Turku Region Development Centre <\/b>is a public development organisation comprising 18 municipalities in Southwest Finland. TAD Centre\u2019s main objective is to create an environment that promotes dynamic enterprise activities in Turku region and to co-ordinate business policies in the region. TAD Centre participates and co-ordinates strategic development projects to support and create the growth in the region, incl. many logistics and ICT projects. As a partner in some national projects in the field of maritime and wood related logistics and ICT, WWG will mainly contribute to the empiric part of the project covering the Mecklenburg area. The partner will furthermore integrate its experience and its economic expertise in logistics and ICT by developing concepts and action plans for the regional development based on the project results.<\/p>\n Contact person: Nataliya Korzhynska <\/a>The Federal association of SME’s<\/b> is the biggest German association of enterprises with sections all over Germany. The participating section represents enterprises in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The partner will contribute a representative picture of the logistical and related ICT needs of their enterprises and will guarantee the full coverage of the empiric results of the project. The experience and the economic expertise of the partner will safeguard the development of applicable new concepts & action plans for the regional development based on the project results.<\/p>\n Contact person: Wolf Arnold <\/a> K\u00fchne School of Logistics and Management GmbH <\/b>(formerly <\/b> Hamburg School of Logistics (HSL) is an innovative public-private partnership between the Hamburg University of Technology and the Kuehne Foundation of Schindellegi, CH. They aim to foster excellence in their study, research, and professional programs in order to contribute toward the development of management and logistics studies driving their academic community to the achievement of innovative, useful and successful solutions. HSL will participate in LogOn Baltic as WP3 leader with their expertise in logistics research. They will also contribute to workshops and the dissemination.<\/p>\n Contact person: Prof. Wolfgang Kersten <\/a>Ministry for Transport, Building and Regional Development M-V<\/b> has a wide experience as a partner as well as a lead partner in several Interreg, Phare and TACIS projects focused on regional development and spatial planning; e.g. SuPortNet. The Ministry has been one of the driving forces behind the VASAB cooperation. Experience from the role as a spatial planning authority in M-V and from spatial planning cooperation in BSR will contribute to the project, safeguarding project\u2019s direction towards applicable results for daily practice in spatial planning and regional development around the BSR.<\/p>\n Contact person: Karl Schmude <\/a> Wismar University<\/b> is an experienced partner in national and international projects. Among others, the participating business department of the university has been taking part in international projects focused on entrepreneurship, development & internationalisation of SME’s, maritime logistics and regional development (e.g. Baltic Business Development Network). They will participate in the project as WP1 leader and will coordinate the contribution of the Mecklenburg partners. FDT has worked for many years with national governments and authorities and has thus a strong network all over Europe on public and private level, which will be utilised in the project. Tallinn City Government<\/b> aims at improving the competitiveness of the Estonian capital region. Its representatives will participate in the workshops directed to the regional development bodies. The City\u2019s Development Direrctor, Mr.Urmas Hallika is personally involved in LogOn Baltic to ensure that the results will directly benefit Tallinn region\u2019s strategic development.<\/p>\n Contact person: Inga Skurihhin <\/a>Tartu Science Park (TSP)<\/b> was founded in 1992 and was the first organisation in Estonia set up with clearly stated intention to support innovation. TSP supports business innovation activities in the region by networking with universities, public and private sector. The TSP technology incubator offers a variety of services to start-up companies and the ICT Centre organises seminars, courses and contests for students and mediates several national and international ICT activities.<\/p>\n Contact person: Margit H\u00e4marik <\/a>Organisations and specialists in the fields of Logistics and Customs have joined in Logistics and Customs Brokers Association (LCBA)<\/b> with the main goal to promote international trade, ensure safe and reliable cargo flow trough Latvia and develop logistics and customs brokers activities in Latvia. LCBA is in active co-operation with European Logistics Association and will help in the European wide dissemination. Riga City Council<\/b> aims at improving the competitiveness of the Latvian capital region. The development strategy of Riga is directly benefiting from the results of LogOn Baltic. The representatives of Riga will participate in the meetings directed to the regional development bodies. They will act as the WP4 leader to ensure effective dissemination also to policy-makers within the BSR.<\/p>\n Contact person: Ilona Smite <\/a>The Telematics and Logistics Institute of Transport and Telecommunications Institut<\/b>e (TTI)<\/b> has a long experience in transport and logistics research and teaching. Their aim is to make productive contributions to the continued progress of the transportation industry of Latvia. TTI has participated in numerous EU projects and is at the moment partner in InLoC and in the Baltic Tangent, both INTERREG projects. TTI brings to the project its know-how on the logistics and ICT field and perform surveys in Latvia.<\/p>\n Contact person: Igor Kabashkin <\/a>Vilnius Gediminas Technical University<\/b> is a modern higher school with significant educational and research achievements. The University includes 8 faculties, Aviation Institute named after A.Gustaitis, International Studies Centre, Centre for Continuous Education, 10 research institutes and 19 laboratories.<\/p>\n On Sept 1, 2005 over 14 849 students came to the University’s classrooms, with 3 491 of them being first-year students. Teaching staff numbers 919, including 50 Research fellows. There are also 117 Doctors Habil and Professors, 508 Doctors or Associate Professors, 75 Lectors and 248 Assistants.<\/p>\n The University provides 88 programmes for diploma engineers, undregraduate and graduate (Bachelor and Master) studies in the fields of Humanity Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Technological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences and Art Sciences. They will work as WP2 leader in LogOn Baltic and contribute to the project especially with their expertise in logistics.<\/p>\n Contact person: H\u00e5kan Aronsson <\/a>\u00d6stsam Regional Development Council<\/b> works towards the achievement of an enduring economic, social and cultural development of \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland. It has 13 municipalities and the County Council as members. They concentrate their activities among the others on communication and IT and development of trade and industry. They will participate in work shops, put the intentions into a regional framework and help out in collecting the data for the research.<\/p>\n Contact person: Per Sandstr\u00f6m <\/a>Transport Centrum AB<\/b> is a non-profit development company for free enterprise and competence within the logistic and transport area having one of the best logistics locations in Sweden.
