The Final Conference of the SBOIL project<\/a> (South Baltic Oil Spill Response Through Clean-up with Biogenic Oil Binders) was held in Rostock on 29 November 2019. SBOIL was partly funded by the EU’s Interreg South Baltic Programme<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main results of SBOIL were presented focusing on two main areas: 1) the use of new oil spill response technology using biogenic oil binders, and 2) awareness-raising in different administration levels and public bodies. The Conference programme also included a demonstrative afternoon session, where the main components of the technology were shown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

OIL SPILL was presented by Jorma Rytk\u00f6nen from SYKE (Finnish Environment Institute). Rytk\u00f6nen specified the main tasks and focus areas of the project as well as the various partners around the Baltic Sea area. He also described the latest oil spill-related R&D efforts in Finland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Rytk\u00f6nen delivered greetings from Lauri Ojala, the OIL SPILL Project Director, and invited the delegates to follow the OIL SPILL webpage and define possible interesting items for their needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
