Here you will find a description of how we process your personal data when you sign up for one of DocSoBe’s events.
1. Name, controller and contact information of the register
The name of the register is DocSoBe ry’s event registrations.
The membership register is managed by DocSoBe – Association for Doctoral Researchers of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Turku

2. Processors of personal data
The persons who have the right to process personal data in the register are members and deputy members of the board of the association as well as persons specifically authorised by the board to process personal data.

3. Purpose and legal basis for processing personal data
The personal data is handled for the purposes of DocSoBe’s event organisation and compilation of statistics.
The legal basis of handling personal data is based on the data subject’s informed consent. (Article 6 (1a) GDPR).
4. What personal data we collect
Data collected for event organisation purposes includes the person’s name, email address, study subject, doctoral programme and information on special diets and allergies.
5. From which sources personal data is collected
Personal data is collected from respondents themselves.
6. Transfer or disclosure of data
Information on special diets and allergies may be provided to the party responsible for catering of the event. Other information is not disclosed to third parties without the consent of the person concerned. Data will not be disclosed outside the EU/EEA.
7. Automated decision-making
Personal data is not used for automated decision-making or profiling.
8. Principles of personal data protection
Personal data is stored in electronic storage services provided by the University of Turku, access to which requires a valid username and password and a separate user right, which only the members of the Board of DocSoBe ry have.
9. Retention period of personal data
Personal data related to event registration is stored maximum one year after the event. Data on study subject and doctoral program can be stored in an anonymized form for statistical purposes for an indefinite time.
10. Rights of the data subject
You have the right to request from the controller access to your personal data, rectification or erasure of such data, restriction of processing and to object to processing.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman if you consider that the processing of your personal data has violated current data protection legislation.
