Did article review comments leave you scratching your head again? Ever wondered what to respond to the infamous reviewer number 2, who wants you to turn your sophisticated analysis on its head? Join the DocSoBe peer review workshop on February 29th, and you will know!
In the workshop, Associate Professor of Political Science, Dr. Michael Hansen will give a detailed presentation on the stages of the peer review process: 1. before peer review, 2. getting prepared to submit, 3. submitting, 4. waiting, 5a. reject, 5b. revise and resubmit, (R&R), 6. revisions (R&R memo), and 7. after acceptance. Along with a general discussion, he will accompany this walk-through of the process with one of his recent publications as a concrete example for how to navigate the peer review process, including dissecting reviewer comments and satisfactorily implementing revisions. Participants are welcome to ask questions during the workshop. Material will be circulated prior to the workshop for the example, including the original submission, the reviewers’ comments, the revision memo, and the published version of the study.
