OIL SPILL Introduced to the Search and Rescue Experts in Lithuania
The meeting of Lithuanian authorities responsible for Search and Rescue (SAR) operations was arranged by the Lithuanian Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Klaipeda, 26 November. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the SAR related issues covered by the newly edited version of the national Search and Rescue Activities Plan as well as to share ideas for further cooperation.
Nearly 30 experts attended the meeting, and among them was also Dr. Sergej Suzdalev from Klaipeda University and OIL SPILL. Other participants represented Lithuanian Armed Forces, Air Navigation, Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration, Fire and Rescue Board of Klaipeda County and State Border Guard Service.
Sergej Suzdalev introduced the OIL SPILL project to these experts. Besides the general project idea and aims, the participants were informed about the foreseen exercises planned to be organized in collaboration with Lithuanian MRCC and Fire and Rescue Board of Klaipeda County in 2020. The participants were also encouraged to actively communicate on project-related issues in future.
