Prof. Räikkä’s research interests focus on ethics and political philosophy. Räikkä has been the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Turku since August 2017.


Dr. Elisa Aaltola, University of Turku, Finland

Elisa Aaltola has focused her prior research on animal philosophy, environmental ethics, and normative moral psychology. Recently, she has explored particularly akrasia and the role of emotions in moral decision-making. Aaltola has published nearly 40 peer-reviewed articles, three edited volumes and six books on the above themes.

Dr. Jukka Varelius, University of Turku, Finland

Jukka Varelius is a Research Fellow at the Department of Philosophy, Contemporary History, and Political Science at the University of Turku, Finland.
His research interests focus on questions of applied ethics.

Dr. Juho Ritola, University of Turku, Finland

Juho Ritola has researched questions in the theory of argument, critical thinking, and epistemology. He is especially interested in the epistemic questions that conspiracy theories present: questions about disagreement, fallacies, and general reasoning strategies.
