DocSoBe is back from its summer break, and this message brings you information about our events in September.
2 September, 5 pm | Orientation Day After Work in Proffan kellari’ cabinet. The orientation day for the new doctoral researchers at the Social and Behavioural Sciences will be on Wednesday. After the official programme, DocSoBe will host an After Work gathering at Proffan kellari’ cabinet (2nd floor), starting at 5 pm. Come and meet our new doctoral researchers!
4 September, 10 am–12 pm | Writing workshop at Educarium and on Zoom. Are you looking for some structure and motivation for your writing? Come join DocSoBe’s Friday writing workshops! During the workshop, you can work on a piece of text or another task that is currently relevant to you, together with other doctoral researchers in a supportive and encouraging peer environment – so feel free to spread the word among your fellow doctoral researchers as well. The workshop facilitator takes care of the rhythm of the session and breaks, helping you stay focused and keep your work moving forward. Coffee and some light snacks will be provided. ☕️
The writing workshop is held once a month on Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm, in a hybrid format. The dates for the autumn semester are 4 September, 2 October, 6 November, and 4 December. The workshop will take place in Montessori room KH272 in the Educarium Library. 10 September, 5–7 pm | After Work at Proffan kellari. An informal get-together for all doctoral researchers in the social and behavioural sciences at the University of Turku. Our After Work gatherings take place on Thursdays during odd-numbered weeks from 5 to 7 pm, unless otherwise announced. Come along, unwind, and enjoy some company after the workday!
15 September, 11 am | Lunch meeting. Whether you’re a DocSoBe member or not, you’re warmly welcome to join us for our monthly lunch gathering! We’ve made a small change to the format we introduced in the spring. We’ll now meet in the lobby on the second floor of Publicum and head to the lunch restaurant together. Lunch is at your own expense. No registration is required.
24 September, 5-7pm | After Work at Proffan kellari.
