Utilizing ML and AI to automatize AURAMARINE’s design processes – FEBRUARY 2020

1. COMPANY

Auramarine (https://www.auramarine.com/) is globally recognised as a leading provider of critical fuel supply and handling solutions for marine and offshore shipowners and operators, shipyards and engine manufacturers. Our heavy fuel oil supply units and marine gas oil handling systems deliver operational efficiency, safety and reliability throughout their lifetimes. Our industry-leading knowledge and expertise extends to auxiliary units for use in marine applications and power station installations. These include fuel change-over systems, emergency pump units, cooling water systems, preheating and oil lubrication units, fuel oil transfer systems and gas valve units for liquefied natural gas (LNG) systems. All are designed for reliable, long-term performance. Whether a customised or off-the-shelf solution is needed, Auramarine works closely with clients to understand what is required and find the system that best meets their needs.

Auramarine offers:

  • design and delivery of fuel supply and handling solutions
  • off-the-shelf and customised auxiliary units for the marine and offshore industries
  • comprehensive support during installation
  • service and maintenance programmes
  • specialist, experienced service engineers
  • performance optimisation and existing system upgrades
  • reliable worldwide deliveries of genuine spare parts.

We are committed to serving our customers on time, at the right cost and with uncompromised quality. Auramarine has representatives in more than 25 countries and offices in Finland, mainland China and Hong Kong. Auramarine is part of the Hollming Group (www.hollming.com).

2. SEMINAR’s focus

All the players in the modular unit market are using almost the same components and therefore the optimised design of the modular unit is the main competitive edge.  Modular units are designed mostly using reference units to save design time.

The focus of this seminar is:  How to automate the design of the Auramarine’s modular units?

Hence our goal is to generate ideas on how to automate and optimize the design of the Auramarine’s modular units using new technologies like for example  utilizing machine learning and artificial intelligence.

3. DESCRIPTION

This seminar focuses on  Auramarine’s modular units/skids.  If you ask yourself what a module/skid is, we can briefly define a modular process skid as an engineering frame for equipment, that contains a self-contained process system. An advantage of these process skids is that they are easily transported and integrated into other systems. Examples of industries that utilize process skids are: manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, consumer products, chemicals, oil and gas.

AURAMARINE produces and develops its own type of module/skid. They are widely used in marine and power plants. When engineers design a skid / module for a particular customer, they do this manually because there is a wide diversity of components and consideration to take into account when one is tailoring the systems. This is a multi parameter selection process.

Hence the challenge for AURAMARINE is:  How to automate the design of the Auramarine’s modular units?

This seminar will be outstanding interesting for those participants who are compelling in optimization, automatization, AI, machine learning, complex systems, etc.

However the invitation is also open to those visionaries that see the business of the use of data and how the automation process can support new business opportunities.
