Meeting on Cross-border Exercises and Staff exchange in Copenhagen, 9 October 2019

Project partners from Denmark, Finland, Lithuania and Sweden gathered to Copenhagen this week to discuss cross-border exercises and short-term staff exchange in the OIL SPILL project (Work Package 3, Group of Activity 3.1.).

Participants represented the Southwest Finland Emergency Services, Danish Civil Protection League, Östra Götaland Fire and Rescue Service, Fire and Rescue Department of Lithuania, and the University of Turku.

The meeting was successful. Forthcoming events and ongoing preparations were reviewed and new ideas initiated. Also, the current situation of the whole project and the importance of internal and external communication were discussed.

According to Project Manager Jarmo Malmsten (fourth from right), the event consolidated collaboration between participants and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. Also Torbjörn Lindström (left) and Miikka Toivonen (right) from the Southwest Finland Emergency Services participated in the meeting.
