IMMERSED takes a psychological perspective on literary experience. We examine how emotionally provoking literary texts capture attention and induce mind-wandering by utilising laboratory measures like eye tracking and EEG recordings. We do experiments on reading and on audio book listening, with proficient adult readers, children, and adolescents.
The project is funded by the Academy of Finland (2021-2024). The PI of the project is associate professor Johanna K. Kaakinen from the Department of Psychology and Speech-Language Pathology, University of Turku.
