ChemSAR has been granted the label of a flagship project
ChemSAR has been granted the label of a flagship project under the Priority Area SAFE in the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR).
This means that the project fulfils a particular set of criteria: it has a high macro-regional impact; it contributes to the objectives of the strategy; and, it is related to one or more actions of the Priority Area/Horizontal Action described in the strategy. In addition to these, a flagship project is also expected to have a clear transnational dimension in the Baltic Sea Region Programme area, which ChemSAR naturally has being a consortium of nine partners from five different BSR countries.
The EUSBSR aims at improving the environmental conditions of the Baltic Sea, connecting the region and increasing prosperity among its population. The implementation of the Strategy is financed by different national and EU funds, including Interreg Baltic Sea Region. The Interreg Baltic Sea Region continues to co-finance flagship projects of the Strategy and other projects contributing to the Strategy implementation.
