National SAR Stakeholder Meeting in Klaipeda

The meeting of Lithuanian authorities responsible for SAR operations was arranged by the Lithuanian Maritime Rescue Coordination Center on 17th of November 2016 in Klaipeda.

The meeting was attended by more than 20 experts, representing Lithuanian Armed Forces, Air Navigation, Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration, Fire and Rescue Board of Klaipeda County and State Border Guard Service.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the SAR related issues, covered by the newly edited version of national Search and Rescue Activities Plan as well as share the ideas for further cooperation.

During the meeting ChemSAR project was introduced by Klaipeda university representative Sergej Suzdalev. Among the general issues covered by the project stakeholders were informed about the national tabletop exercises, planned to be organized next year in collaboration with Lithuanian MRCC. Meeting participants were encouraged to actively communicate on project related issues during the next years.
