Annual Meeting of SAR Stakeholders in Lithuania
The annual national meeting of Lithuanian authorities responsible for SAR operations was arranged by the Lithuanian Maritime Rescue Coordination Center on 23-24th of November 2017 in Klaipeda.
One of the most important thing in the Agenda was to discuss possibilities to make needed updates to the National Search and Rescue Activities Plan as well as National oil spill contingency plan, which currently not covers operations, related to possible HNS accidents.
Igor Kuzmenko briefly presented the progress of ChemSAR, highlighting the importance of contribution to the development of joint standard operational procedures as one of the most crucial project deliverables.
Needs for the new helicopter landing sites in Klaipeda and other maritime related resources for SAR purposes were discussed and preliminary ideas for the national exercises implementation in 2018 elaborated.
