Welcome to the last KULTVA seminar of this spring! This seminar discusses contemporary trends and methodological, theoretical and empirical insights in the research of civil society, activism and social movements. The presentations address the intersectional dynamics of civil society from the following perspectives: anti-racist activism in Brazil and Finland, women’s civilian preparedness training in Finland and feminist activism in contemporary Russia.

The seminar is organized by the Cultural interaction research network KULTVA, based in the Department of Social Sciences. KULTVA is a community for social scientists interested in culture and interaction. The mission of KULTVA is to support students and researchers in advancing critical and creative approaches to social research.

The event is open for all and students may collect lecture pass entries. No-preregistration required. Refreshments are included.
