Preparedness at Sea: Developing and Sharing Practices

ChemSAR partner the Finnish Border Guard is organising a workshop in the European Maritime Day in Poole. The workshop is about preparedness at sea, developing and sharing practices, and it will be held on the first day of the conference, at 15:15-16:45. European Maritime Day is the annual meeting point for Europe’s maritime community to network, discuss and forge joint action. The EMD 2017 conference and exhibition will be held on 18-19 May 2017 in Poole, UK.

This workshop Preparedness at Sea will focus on the following themes:

  • Assessing and communicating the safety status of a vessel (Vessel Triage)
  • Joint coordination between maritime response teams and other authorities (BSMIRG)
  • Co-operation in maritime rescue operations involving hazardous and noxious substances (ChemSAR)
  • Educational cooperation in the field of coast guard functions (ECGF Training Network)

Panel discussion will conclude the workshop on current themes and development of the best practices.
