Saturday 24.5.2025: Museum visit OR National park visit
After the conference officially closes, you have a chance to either learn more about Finnish history and modern art or explore the Finnish nature according to your own interests with the conference organizers.
Museum visit: Aboa Vetus Ars Nova
A visit to the archaeological museum Aboa Vetus and the museum of modern art Ars Nova. The entrance fee is 20€ in total for both museums. We will meet at the Arcanum lobby after the conference closes, after which we will head to the museums (Itäinen Rantakatu 4–6, 20700 Turku).
There is a brunch restaurant Brunndeli in the same building as the museums, and we have booked a table at 13:30 in case some of the people visiting the museums would like to eat there. The price of the brunch is 30€. There are many restaurants on the way, and you can, of course, choose to eat somewhere else instead. After eating, you can explore the museums at your own pace.
You can learn more about Aboa Vetus Ars Nova at https://avan.fi/en and Brunndeli at https://www.brunndeli.fi/ (in Finnish).
National park visit: Kurjenrahka National Park
A visit to the Kurjenrahka National Park, located 35km away from central Turku. Entrance to the park is free, but you need to buy a bus ticket for 3,15€. The ticket can be purchased on the bus with a credit card or beforehand using the Föli app, and the bus ride will take approximately an hour.
One of the conference organizers will join you for the tour. We will meet near the Turku Orthodox Church on the northern side of the Market Square at 15:00 and we will take the bus number 21 that leaves nearby at 15:15. We will provide you with some light snacks, but we recommend you have a lunch before the visit. The last bus back to Turku centre will leave from the national park gate at 19:13.
