First article of Oman research presented

University of Turku transnational services in Oman are focused on evaluating the impact developing of teacher professional development. The professional development of teachers, carried out under the Ministry of Education, substantiates developing the Omani education to support effective learning and ultimately enhance the learning outcomes. The core of the work lies in the teacher professional development programmes.
The impact of the programmes is evaluated with research on teacher competence. The cooperation with the University of Turku covers several scholarly articles from a large data collection conducted from all school areas in Oman and The Specialised Centre for Professional Training of Teachers in the capital, Muscat.
The first co-authored article “Challenges for Teacher Professional Development in Oman” was presented at ATINERS, 18th Annual International conference on Education 16 – 19 May, Athens, Greece. The article focuses to the operational environment and Omani education at large.
