Liira in Renaissance studies: Reader interaction with graphic devices

Aino Liira’s article on reader interaction with graphic devices is out now in Renaissance Studies.

In the article, Liira explores, the ways in which early modern readers engage with books containing graphic devices. While commenting on graphic devices is rare, given that readers typically focused on annotating the text, she discovers that the readers also made corrections or changes to the visual items, or even added their own diagrams, tables, or drawings, to the works.

The article is OA and available here: https://doi.org/10.1111/rest.12995

The article is a part of a special issue on the interaction of manuscript and print, edited by Mari-Liisa Varila and Sara Norja.
