HAZARD in port conferences

Finnish HAZARD Seaport Partners have actively taken part in port conferences in Finland. Baltic Ports Organisation (BPO) arranged their 25th years anniversary seminar in Helsinki 8-9 September. The themes of the seminar were ”Political and economic cooperation across Baltic & Europe” and ”Baltic Sea as a model region for clean ports and maritime transport”. A couple of weeks later, 14-15 September, the port actors gathered in Kokkola, Where the Finnish Port Association and the Finnish Port Operators’ Association arranged a conference together. HAZARD Project Director Lauri Ojala took part in a panel discussion about the future of the field. Ojala stated that alongside productivity development, the safety and security issues will play a larger role in the future.
