ChemSAR Handbook going places

ChemSAR Handbook for Maritime SAR in HNS Incidents was spotted on many tables when the Technical Correspondence Group on Hazardous and Noxious Substances of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) held a two-day meeting this week to commence the developing of a training curriculum for chemical spill response for the Member States. The meeting took place on 23 – 24 September in Lisbon. Teemu Niemelä from the Finnish Border Guard participated in the meeting. He was leading the work on developing the operational plans and standard operational procedures for maritime incidents involving HNS in ChemSAR. Now he is leading the work on demonstrating ChemSAR’s and three other projects’ outcome within the ResQU2 Project Platform to enhance the use in the Baltic Sea Region.
