Two international researchers of philosophy of sport visit the Unit of Philosophy
Unit of Philosophy organised a seminar “Doping, Death, Danger, Sport and Philosophy” on 18th of February in 2015. The seminar had two speakers from the Charles University in Prague: Professor Jim Parry and Doctor Irena Martínková. Parry is, amongst others, Series editor in Routledge’s Ethics and Sport book series and Martínková has, for instance, published articles in the journal Sport, Ethics and Philosophy.
Parry asked in his presentation “What’s wrong with doping?” and discussed various arguments which have been offered to show that doping is problematic. Martínková focused on talking about dangerous sports from the phenomenological viewpoint.
